Guide to a great semester in the Xior residences

Welcome, students! A new semester is about to start, and we are excited to have you in our Xior residences in Spain. We know that this period can be challenging, especially if you are new to the residence or if you are already back from holidays. But don’t worry, we are here to help you have a smooth start to the semester. Follow our guide and you will be able to face everything this new semester has to offer in the best way.

Organise your space

One of the keys to a smooth start to the semester is to have an organised space. Take some time to tidy up your room, making sure everything is in its place and that you have enough space to study and relax.

Update and prepare your study material

Make sure you have all the textbooks and supplies you need for your classes. Make a list and check if you need to buy anything new. This is also a good time to make sure your computer and other devices you use for academic purposes are working properly.

Set goals

Define your academic goals for the semester, what would you like to achieve in your course? Setting clear goals will help you stay focused and motivated as you move through the semester.

Create a timetable

Organise your time with a schedule: include your classes, study time, extracurricular activities and, of course, free time to relax and socialise. A well-planned schedule can help you avoid stress and stay organised.

Explore residence resources

Our residences in Spain offer an incredible range of resources for students. Make the most of these facilities, such as the study rooms we have, coworking rooms, lounges and social events we organise. They are excellent opportunities to learn and connect with other residents.

Get to know your fellow residents

Don’t be shy! Say hello to your neighbours and fellow residents. Making friends in residence can make your experience much more enriching and fun.

And establish an exercise routine?

Exercise is important to maintain a healthy body and mind. In our residences, we have gyms at your disposal, and you may also investigate what options of gyms near the residence hall you have.

Keep a balance

Remember that balance is key – it’s always good to make time for your studies, but it’s also important to take a break and enjoy university life.

Ask for help if you need it

If at any time you feel overwhelmed or need help, don’t hesitate to contact the residence staff or your university’s support services. They are here to help you.

Enjoy the journey

Finally, remember that university is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Enjoy every moment, learn from your experiences, and do your best to make the most of your time in residence and at university.

Welcome back and we hope you have an amazing semester! You can find out about everything your residence hall has to offer on our website or you can also come to the reception for any doubts or questions you may have. You can also follow us on our social networks, and if you want to share a photo of your experience, you can tag us at xior_spain.
